Review:

This is an amazing book in its clarity and getting to the heart of understanding the psyche of Islam. The title does not do it justice. The book is a great starting point for both a beginner and an advanced student to become oriented with respect to Islamic ideology which is so different from a Western understanding of religion. The author helps you enter into an Islamic mindset as well as into the depressing psychological effects that Islam has on non-Muslims who must live in a Muslim majority country.

Review:

The Closing of the Muslim Mind details the philosophical and theological foundations of Sunni Islam's rejection of reason as a necessary component of faith. This rejection of reason is not a recent development by Islamists, rather it can be traced back to Qur'an itself and the theological conflicts in the 9th and 10th centuries between the Mu‘tazilites and Ash‘arite factions. Al-Ghazali played an important role in extending Ash‘arite non-rational theology and ethics across the Sunni Muslim world. This book is both scholarly, readable, and enlightening for our understanding of Islam.

Review: The authors show from the Qur'an and Muslim sources, both ancient and modern, that the Islamic Doctrine of Immigration is an Islamic-approved method of changing a host society into an Islamic state. There are different types of jihad to advance the objective of establishing a society governed by Shari'a law. In this book, they show how the Islamic Doctrine of Immigration is a very effective form of stealth jihad. This doctrine was demonstrated in the life of Muhammad when he emigrated (Hijrah) from Mecca to Medina. In Europe especially, Muslims are advancing the cause of Islam by the Doctrine of Immigration without the use of jihad’s sword.

Review: The first mistake that Westerners make is to assume that Islam's vocabulary is very similar to a Christian's vocabulary. For a Christian a church is simply a place to gather for spiritual worship. Islam teaches that it is wrong to separate the secular from the sacred. So, a mosque may be used for any Islamic purpose, including prayer, as well as a school (madrasah) and sermons on politics, economics, jihad, government, banking, etc. Islam is more than a religion. It is a "complete way of life" to bring everything under Shari'a law. The authors show that mosques are central to the objective of changing a host society into an Islamic one.

Review:

This booklet provides verbatum extracts from the 4th Conference of the Academy of Islamic Research held in 1968 at Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt. It shows the Qur'anic and Sunnah rationale for Islamic hatred of the Jews and the nation of Israel.

This is our enemy[Jews], and the disease that plagued our lands. According to the descriptions provided of the Jews in the Quran, they stand as an enemy which is devoid of any human feelings. They are rather a pest or a plague that is cursed like Satan who was expelled by God from the realm of His mercy. This enemy is also sent out to launch war on people exactly like Satan. We have been warned by God against Satan when He said : "Satan is your enemy so regard him as such". God also warned us against the Jews when he said : "The most violent enemies for the believers are the Jews and those who disbelieved". — page 44

Their hatred is very similar to the hatred of Satan against the Jewish people. It reminds me of God's solemn covenant with Abraham in Genesis 12:3.

Abraham Issac Balaam
I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; Genesis 12:3 NIV May those who curse you be cursed and those who bless you be blessed." Genesis 27:29 NIV May those who bless you be blessed and those who curse you be cursed! Numbers 24:9 NIV

Review: Typically, the Middle East question over the land of Palestine is cast solely in terms of a political conflict over who owns the land. The world's statesmen seem clueless about the underlying religious motivation that energize Muslims regarding the very existence of a nation of Jews residing in the Middle East. The authors of this book cite ancient and modern Islamic sources to show the religious literature animating Muslim vilification of Jews and why they claim the land of Palestine exclusively for their own.

Review: The book gives vivid insights into the personal stories of Palestinians and Israelis who are involved in Middle Eastern conflicts. Mosab Yousef, a son of a leading Hamas figure, is transformed by the personal reading of Jesus Christ in the gospels. In the process he comes to understand that peace efforts are doomed to failure until hatred is replaced by loving one's enemies, as taught in the gospels. The book will inspire the reader to look to the example of Jesus Christ and the gospel for true peace, something not found in the example of Islam's prophet, Muhammad.
